Welcome to the MatchMySport Blog, which will provide information and updates on the MatchMySport site.
We will update you on how to use the site, new features and news. So you can get Fit for 2011 and Make New Friends by Playing Sport.
Let’s get started, MatchMySport’s main aim to provide a service to locate sports partners and team mates to play a sport at a time and location that suits you.
So what is a sport partner? Well a sport partner is someone who you can count on to play a sport that is of the same sport’s ability and lives nearby in the same area, so that you can easily meet up for a game of sport.
How do you find a sport partner or team mate?
The main way to find a sport partner or team mate is to click on the Events menu and click on Add an Event. You will then be presented with a screen to Add an Event.
You can then choose whether you want to make the Event – Private or Public.
Private Events – is when you already have someone in mind to play an Event and you Invite them to your Event and that only invited members can RSVP to it. Some information about the event will still be visible to all members of your MatchMySport Network on the All Events list if it is searched for by the Event Name, Type, Date or Location. Members who have been invited to the event can see it on their My Events page, as well. Private events were implemented to give Event Creators a choice about who could RSVP, not to create hidden events. If you're thinking of creating an event, keep in mind that those not invited to a private event will still be able to see it.
Public Events – is when you are looking for a new sports partner from our database of members. Your Event information will be shown on the Main Page so that other members of MatchMySport can see information about the Event

How to meetup for your Sports Event?
Please follow the Safety Tips on the Search Menu.
Try to meetup in a public place; say a leisure centre and beforehand contact by email to arrange a time and a public place to meet.
You can contact your potential sports partner by paging them. Please see www.paginglist.com to sign up for an account (please note: call charges are available on the Paginglist.com website). PagingList is a way to conquer the fear of giving out phone numbers online, by only giving a username or a tag rather than your mobile number. You can then contact your sport partner by paging them and this keeps your mobile number private. If you no longer want to speak to the person anymore, you can remove their tag, this prevents them from contacting you again. For further information on “paging” – please view the Video on www.paginglist.com.
Then enjoy playing a sport with your sports partner, thanks to MatchMySport.
